What Makes Lash Extensions Wispy?
Wispys lashes are eyelash extensions with noticeably long spikes, each eye consists of about 7-13 spikes or Wispys. These are made using different eyelash extension lengths and curls grouped as fans and on their own as individuals.
Each Wispy is surrounded by a bed of shorter eyelash extensions that gradually get longer as they get closer to the long spikey centre of each Wispy.
The overall volume look of the lashes is mainly determined by the shorter eyelash extensions that surround each of the Wispys.
This combination of Wispys and the surrounding shorter eyelash extensions is known as Wispy Lashes.

How Wispy Classic Lashes are made
About 50% of natural eyelashes will have an individual eyelash extension attached to them.
Those with this set will book infills every 2-3 weeks on average.
The Downside to Classic Wispy Lashes
The disadvantage with this set is the same with all the natural eyelash extension sets - they can become happy sooner than the higher volume sets.
Gaps will appear when eyelashes fall out, and the natural sets won't have the benefit of a fan next to them to help cover any gaps left behind.
Excessive lash fall out is not very common as genetics and your environment play big roles in lash loss.
But the good far outweighs the bad and lash loss can easily be overcome with more regular infill appointments.
Wispy hybrid lashes
This set is by far the most popular Wispy set and looks extra amazing when used with as with Cat Eye.
Like a regular Hybrid Lash set, this set is a combination of individual extensions and fans 1:2 or 1:3, but unlike regular Hybrid Lashes, this set has the added punch of Wispy spikes which change the look, feel and vibe entirely.
How Hybrid Wispy Eyelashes are Made
With a 50/50 mix of individual extensions and fans applied to about 80% of the natural eyelashes, this set makes for a denser look than the Wispy Classic Lashes.
Clients with these lashes usually get infills every 2-3 weeks.
The Downside to Hybrid Wispy Lashes
This set has a similar downside to that of Classic Wispy Lashes, these can become gappy quicker than the higher volume lashes, as is the case with all the more natural eyelash extension sets, Wispy or not.

This next-level set is reserved for those who dare to stand out, with nowhere to hide the only option is to embrace all the attention with confidence while you strut around like you own the place, lol.

How Volume Wispy Eyelashes are Made
Wispy Volume Lashes are made up of 1:4 and 1:5 fans (4D, 5D fans), that vary in size and curly, these are applied to about 70% of the healthy natural eyelashes chosen to take the added weight. Total lash count equals approximately 300-350 lash extensions
With so much volume in these lashes, they usually lash a long time and still look great at the 3-week mark.
The Downside to Volume Wispy Lashes
The look of these can change drastically from person to person as the amount of healthy natural lashes a client has will determine how many fans can be applied, so you might be disappointed if you ask the lash tech if you can have "what she's got"!
Mega volume wispy lashes
The longest, fluffiest, most dramatic wispy lashes of them all, these Mega Volume Wispy Lashes are considered by most lash techs as the best wispy lashes in the wispyverse, probably because they're very difficult to apply.
A typical client with these is full of confidence, sassiness, and attitude, and uses them more as a statement piece than a "pick-me-up".
How Mega Volume Wispy Eyelashes are Made
The extravagant full volume of this set is made possible by lightweight eyelash extensions grouped in 5D fans (1:5), that are attached to 100% of the healthy natural eyelashes available.
Those who have these lashes generally visit us every 4 weeks for infills, the longevity of this set is one of the perks of having such high-volume lashes.
The Downside to Wispy Mega Volume Lashes
These lashes require a lot of healthy natural eyelashes which are not very common, giving you noticeably different results from others, potentially leading to disappointment but on the flip side, you might get better lashes than you expected.
Conclusion
Not everyone can apply Wispys and not everyone can wear them.
